How it Works

Ranchos de Taos ChurchYou will have already obtained a marriage license, or will obtain it before the ceremony in Taos County or another county clerk’s office in the State of New Mexico.

For your elopement, keep in mind that marriage licenses in New Mexico require two witness signatures. Many couples travel with friends, but if it’s just the two of you, I will round up those signatures for you.

You contact me via the form on the home page and let me know a little more about you, as well as the proposed date, time and location of the ceremony, and whether you’d like a prewritten “canned” ceremony, or you’d like me to create a custom one for you.

Once you agree to work with me, I will give you the final quote and I will then ask for half the total amount as a non-refundable deposit to hold the date and time. The remainder is due on the day of the ceremony. The reason for the nonrefundable deposit is that I have to clear my schedule to hold that date and time for you, turning away other couples. If you cancel for any reason, I would of course not require the balance due.
